NATO speaks of military targets
NATO confirmed only an air strike against a building in the Libyan capital Tripoli. The attack late on Saturday evening (local time) have been considered a “known command and control building in the district of Bab al-Asisija,” it said in a statement that was released early Sunday morning on the NATO website.
“I know of unconfirmed media reports that some members of the Gaddafi family may have been killed,” it declared the commander of the NATO mission in Libya, General Charles Bouchard. The Alliance itself did not confirm the reports.
“All NATO targets are military in nature and are clearly related to the systematic attacks of the Gaddafi regime on the Libyan population and inhabited areas,” said Bouchard. NATO will fulfill the UN mandate to stop attacks on civilians and to end with precision and care – “different from the Gaddafi forces that cause so much suffering.”
Gaddafi’s son studied in Germany
